May 14, 2019 – Governance In An Emerging New World (Hoover Institution)   
  • Communications technologies, demographics and the movement of peoples, and climate change are combining to place enormous pressure on democracies and the rule of law, both here in the United States and around the world. The panelists will discuss the impact of these disruptive forces on democratic systems, what can be done to strengthen governance, and how we might learn from when technological and social changes have challenged the capacity of democratic governments in the past.

  • This 2019 Youth Climate strike brought millions of young people across the world will be taking their stand on climate change. In San Jose, Friday September 20, 2019, thousands of people gathered to protest and strike.

  • Time of event: 2:45 pm – March begins at San Jose Diridon Station, 65 Cahill St.; 4 pm – Rally starts at San Jose City Hall Plaza, 200 E. Santa Clara St. (until 5 pm)

Sep 16, 2019 – The UCGEC Smart/Green/Happy Cities Conference 2019

This 2019 Silicon Valley US-China Smart, Green, Happy Cities Conference will build on wonderful insights learned at our 10th Anniversary Summit in August 2018 and subsequent Conferences. We will explore multiple dimensions of smart, green, happy City projects in Silicon Valley and China. We have invited a new set of experts to join and formally share their experiences, lessons learned and insights.

 
Sep 8, 2019 – Amah Mutsub Tribal Band Walk for JURISTAC   
  • WALK WITH US— Juristac, the sacred ceremonial grounds of our tribe, is currently threatened by a proposed 320-acre sand and gravel mining operation. To gather strength as we organize to stop this destructive project, we will walk 5 miles together in the footsteps of our ancestors, from Mission San Juan Bautista to the eastern edge of Juristac (Sargent Ranch.) All who wish to stand with us for the protection of our sacred land and the wellness of our future generations are invited to participate.

On December 10th, the Partners are hosting a Community Kick-off Meeting for this planning process. Please see the attached fliers for more info, and help us spread the word!
